The "Guascona" Champagne Saber

Description

If you want to have the kind of parties that people will talk about for years to come, you need a champagne saber! Using a saber to open a bottle of champagne was purportedly first practiced by Napoleon.  It may require a little practice but with this elegant instrument, you are sure to impress friends and family.

The “Guascona” champagne saber is crafted of stainless steel with a snakewood handle.  The blade is dull as that is best for the art of “sabrage.”

This champagne saber is handcrafted by the Consigli family workshop in Scarperia – a village in the Mugello region of Tuscany where the production of cutlery has continued since the 1400s. The artisans of Scarperia are widely recognized as "Master Knife makers."  The Consigli family of Scarperia continues the centuries-old tradition of this Tuscan village with passion and dedication.

Dimensions:  21 ½” l x 3 ¾” w x 4 ½” h (blade 14 ¾” l)

The “Guascona” comes with the steel display stand and in a wood box.
