Description

Beautiful terracotta statue with a faux bronze patina made by the well-known terracotta producer, Manifattura di Signa in Tuscany. This classical statue was produced circa 1930 and depicts Hebe, Greek goddess of youth who served as the cupbearer to the gods and goddesses of Mount Olympus.

Manifattura di Signa began production in the late 19th century specializing in artistic terracotta statuary and reproduction of classical vases and plaques.  Shortly after WWII, the company ceased production.

The base is stamped with the round Manifattura di Signa mark as well as “Made in Italy” and the number “878.”

The condition is very good with minor wear. Please refer to photos of a small chip and old repair on top of pitcher, scratch under left arm, and small pit mark on dress. These small blemishes do not detract from the beauty of this elegant statue.
