Antique Italian Silver Epaulettes Desk Lamp

Description

We picked up this cool pair of 19th century Italian military officer’s silver epaulettes at an antique market in Florence. I particularly love the silver bullion fringe on these epaulettes. These appear to have been made for a medical officer since they feature a Staff of Aesculapius, or a serpent-entwined rod, on each epaulette. They have silver hallmarks including the Italian sterling "800" mark and have a metal tag on the underside that reads "Unione Militare Roma."

Massimo has fashioned a one-of-a-kind lamp, using the epaulettes as lamp shades. A conversation piece for any space, and perfect on a desk.

Condition is very good with wear consistent with age and use.
