Beautifully detailed late 19th century Italian ex voto of a female figure. In the Catholic tradition, an ex voto is offered as either a prayer for healing or protection or offered as thanks for a miracle received. Typically they depict a certain part of the body that needs healing, so this one depicting the entire figure is more rare.
They are often nailed to the walls of the church. This ex voto has a hanger and also an old nail hole near her feet. This ex voto is in good condition with a nice patina; remnants of old glue on the left side of the skirt and hand; few specks of paint. Did not attempt to clean.
