Beautifully crafted antique French mahogany Louis XVI style writing desk with an ingenious tambour roll-top that recedes back when the drawer is pulled out, allowing the desk to be opened. When the drawer is locked, the desk cannot be opened thus keeping the contents safe. The interior of the desk has three small drawers, a pen rest with two spaces for inkwells, and a green leather writing surface. The desk is fully finished on all sides and features intricate brass trims and inlays on all sides. Even the elegant fluted legs have brass inlay and end in brass feet. Each drawer has dovetail construction and brass trim and hardware. This small desk shows fine craftsmanship details that are sure to delight for years to come.
