This striking large 18th century cherry farm table is from Tuscany. Top is composed of three wide planks of cherry wood cleated on the ends and is supported by substantial square tapered legs with a simple yet unique design. Antique farm tables that we typically find in Italy tend to be narrow so this spaciously wide table is a wonderfully rare find. Fabulous patina and character. The table shows the authentic wear one would expect from a 200-plus-year-old farm table. Two small square holes are cut out of each apron on the ends of the table where apparently table leaves had been attached. Corner supports on the underside were also added at some point. The holes could be patched upon request.
