Set of four refined Directoire period chairs made of cherry wood with rush seats. These chairs have gracefully curved and gently tapered legs, curved backs with a scrolled top, and inlaid brass rosettes in the center back rail. The wood has developed a wonderfully rich patina over the years. With only some minor wear to the rush seats, these very sturdy chairs have stood the test of time in both solid construction and style. Underneath one seat is an old paper label from a renowned antique dealer on Florence’s storied antiques row along Via Maggio.
