Vintage Florentine wood plaque featuring an image of Raphael’s Madonna of the Grand Duke. The lovely altar-shaped frame is painted with deep red, blue and gold hues that accent the image. The original painting hangs in the Pitti Palace in Florence. Painted around 1505 by Raphael, it is referred to as "Madonna del Granduca" because the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Ferdinand III purchased the painting in the early 19th century.
Condition is good with a thin vertical surface crack in the image and minor chips of the painted surface.
