This striking large 18th century cherry farm table from Tuscany comes with a set of 8 rush seat chairs that were custom made to match the table – the shape of the front legs of the chairs matches the notched tapering square shape of the table legs.
Antique farm tables that we typically find in Italy tend to be narrow so this spaciously wide table is a wonderfully rare find.
The table shows the authentic wear one would expect from a 200-plus-year-old farm table while the vintage well-made chairs show only minor wear. Two small square holes are cut out of each apron on the ends of the table where apparently table leaves had been attached. These holes could be patched upon request.
